Semester

I wanted to include a short paragraph about my letter patterns and book covers to clarify the projects a bit. The book covers are a social statement about commuters on the subway and social behavior. They are meant to directly confront the viewer and make them aware that looking at other people's reading materials can be considered as invasion of privacy.

The letter patterns are based on my language developed last semester. I took it a step further by generating patterns to display the language's true nature. I used technology to my advantage by letting InDesign create the patterns and then recombined them into compositions. The way the patterns were generated was to bring in the files directly into InDesign and take screen shots of the way the individual pieces were loaded in.

Bucket List

In terms of suggestions for the class I have to agree with what Jeanelle said about starting at 3:15. I think more organized crits will def. help as well. I think part of the class should be spent looking at existing type that we find inspirational I know there's a lot of it out there and I want to be more familiar with what is going on in the design world.

Bucket List:
1. Finish up the projects from last semester
2. Create personal website
3. Spend more time on motion and working with After Effects
4. Manage time better, be more productive
5. Make an awesome portfolio

Here are the list of things I would like to accomplish this semester:

1. Redesign Supermarket Leaflet

I would like to approach this from a nutrition point of you. I would organize the products based on their nutritional value, grouping like items together making it less strenuous on the costumer to locate the items. This also includes the development of icons for the different food groups. This approach will be geared towards representation through typography rather than photography

2. Self Identity

I would like to design a logo to represent myself, this will include the following:
Business Cards, Letterhead, Envelope, Website, Unique Promotional Material. (based on concept)

3. Craigslist

This is a social commentary on online dating.

4. Pan-pal Project

Communication of different cultures through the use of imagery and typography
